Jamal Marcus Leaves Ohio State
Ohio State football confirmed this morning that defensive end Jamal Marcus is leaving the team. A Buckeye spokesperson called it a "mutual decision" by the school and player.
Marcus earned a varsity letter his freshman year, and played 13 games last year, only missing the Big Ten Championship. He had 21 tackles, which was ranked 15th among the Buckeye football players.
His departure puts OSU at its current limit of 82 scholarship athletes.
Already speculation has begun about where he might end up next.
Wouldn't be a huge surprise if departing Ohio State DE Jamal Marcus ends up at James Madison. Everett Withers, JM head, recruited him to OSU— Tim May (@TIM_MAYsports) May 27, 2014
The early favorite to land Jamal Marcus would be the Tar Heels. But would they take a player struggling academically given their situation?— Todd Gibson (@ToddGibsonWNCN) May 27, 2014
