Holy Hang Time!
I personally don’t play on courses that don’t have a clown’s head or a windmill, but I do know that golfers…real golfers…will sometimes “talk” to the golf ball.
In this case, Scott Langley had a chance to have a very nice, long conversation on the 16th hole. He could have exchanged 22 seconds worth of pleasantries to be exact.
So that’s 7 seconds longer than Adam Sandler as Happy Gilmore and his, “That’s your home! Are you too good for your home?” tirade.
It was a bright spot in an otherwise tough final round for Langley. (He shot a 79.)
And if you’re wondering if this is actually allowed under PGA Tour guidelines, a rules official weighed in on that. Bryan Jones told PGA.com that this particular shot was covered by the Tour’s “10-second rule.” The clock starts when the golfer starts to approach the ball.
