Ohio State men's basketball: New faces

High Contrast Normal Version

Amedeo Della Valle

FRESHMAN GUARD

The only freshman on the team, the 6-foot-5, 190-pound native of Alba, Italy, played last season at Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nev., where he made a season-record 66 three-point field goals. He moved to the United States after leading Italy in scoring (15.1 points per game) in the 2011 under-18 European championships.

Andrew Goldstein

JUNIOR GUARD

Goldstein was added as a non-scholarship player after practice started in October. The 6-3, 200-pounder from Marlboro, N.J., can practice but not play in games this season because of an NCAA rule governing transfers. He was a member of the gold medal-winning U.S. team at the Pan-American Maccabi Games in Brazil in January.

Jake Lorbach

SOPHOMORE FORWARD

Lorbach also was added as a non-scholarship player in October. The 6-7, 210-pounder from Elyria, Ohio, played basketball and volleyball at Lakewood St. Edward High School. He won a state championship with the volleyball team as a senior in 2011.
