College football: Ohio State to honor 100th anniversary of Hayes’ birth
Ohio State will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Woody Hayes’ birth with a fundraising dinner in honor of the late coach and his late wife, Anne, at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center on Feb. 15.
Hayes was born on Feb. 14, 1913, and died in 1987. He coached the Buckeyes from 1951 to 1978 and is the winningest coach in school history at 205-61-10. Archie Griffin, who played for Hayes and is president of the Ohio State Alumni Association, will serve as master of ceremonies. Hayes’ son, Steve, is the honorary chairman. Among the speakers will be television commentator Brent Musberger and several former Hayes players.
Proceeds will benefit multiple causes and scholarship funds established in memory of Woody and Anne Hayes. For information and tickets, call 1-800-762-5546.
