NEW YORK — The Cincinnati Reds wrapped up a three-game sweep of the New York Mets with a gift from the baseball gods yesterday.

After letting two leads slip away, the Reds were rallying in the ninth when Brandon Phillips hit a ball down the first-base line. Ike Davis let it go past him, thinking it was foul, but it was called fair. Shin-Soo Choo scored the go-ahead run.
