Ohio State and Ohio University will meet in a men’s basketball game for the first time in 19 years this season.

Buckeyes coach Thad Matta confirmed that the teams will play in November for the first time in Value City Arena, and for the first time anywhere since they last played on Nov.16, 1994, in St. John Arena.

Ohio won that game 78-67 behind 26 points and 15 rebounds from Hamilton Township product Gary Trent. The Bobcats also got 14 points and eight rebounds off the bench from current Ohio State assistant coach Jeff Boals.

The date of the game has not been announced. The Buckeyes’ schedule of 13 nonconference games is expected to be released as soon as the school receives signed contracts from two opponents, a team official said.
