Smith moves into second on WNBA career scoring list
Logan native and former Ohio State player Katie Smith moved into second place on the WNBA scoring list. Her three-point basket midway through the first quarter of the New York Liberty’s game against the Connecticut Sun moved her past Lisa Leslie in league history.
Smith, 39, finished with 10 points, giving her 6,272 points in the WNBA. She is nearly 800 points behind the leader Tina Thompson, who announced that she plans to retire at the end of this season.
