MINNEAPOLIS — The Cleveland Indians returned from the All-Star break last night, but their defense apparently was still on vacation.

Joe Mauer’s two-out, RBI single in the eighth inning gave the Minnesota Twins a 3-2 victory at Target Field. Two of their runs were unearned, and the third was tainted.
