Indians 7, White Sox 1: Long wait to play well worth it
Nick Swisher homered twice for the Indians, hitting solo shots from both sides of the plate.
CHICAGO — The Cleveland Indians waited through nearly 4 1/2 hours of rain yesterday to play the Chicago White Sox. They waited so long that a day game turned into a night game.
Not that it mattered. The Indians would have waited through enough rain to float an ark because they knew it could take them closer to where they’re trying to go. That would be the postseason, and Cleveland took another step in that direction with a 7-1 victory to complete a four-game series sweep.
