Browns: Defending third downs becomes priority

BEREA, Ohio — The racing wiener dogs at FirstEnergy Stadium got more exercise after the first half Sunday than Detroit Lions rookie punter Sam Martin.

Martin was only trotted out to hold for extra-point and field-goal attempts during a second half in which the Lions converted 6 of 7 third-down tries on the way to a 31-17 victory.

Although the Browns are allowing the fewest yards per play (4.6) in the NFL, they continue to struggle with third-down defense.
