College notebook: Dublin’s Chris Quinn hired on Northwestern’s staff

Northwestern hired former NBA player Chris Quinn, a Dublin Coffman graduate, as director of player development. Quinn, who played collegiately at Notre Dame, joins the staff of new coach Chris Collins after a six-year run in the NBA and overseas stops in Russia and Spain.

• Chad Niddery scored at 9:47 of the third period to break a 3-3 tie, and the Ohio State men’s hockey team defeated Bowling Green 5-3 at Value City Arena. After Niddery’s second goal of the year, Darik Angeli added an empty-net goal at 19:33. The Buckeyes (3-3) held 2-1 and 3-2 leads earlier in the game, but gave up tying goals to the Falcons (2-2-2) twice in the third period.
