Ohio State roundup: Baseball team caps Big Ten series win with shutout

Ohio State defeated Michigan State 1-0 to win its opening Big Ten baseball series at Bill Davis Stadium.

Tim Wetzel drove in the only run with a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning.

Tanner Tully (3-0) scattered seven hits over seven innings for the win. Travis Lakins struck out four in two innings of relief.

Michigan State (10-10, 1-2) won the series opener on Friday, but Ohio State (15-7, 2-1) bounced back to take the final two games.

• The second-ranked Ohio State men’s tennis team extended its Big Ten regular-season match win streak to 86 with a 5-2 win over Michigan State in East Lansing.
