Ohio State football: Hubbard RB George Hill commits for 2016

High Contrast Normal Version

George Hill has two season of high-school football left to play, but the running back from Hubbard, Ohio, thought the time was right yesterday for him to become the first commitment to Ohio State’s 2016 class.

“It just feels like home, and (his commitment) would have happened, in my opinion, anyway, so it was, like, why wait?” Hill said.

On the way to rushing for more than 1,100 yards and 15 touchdowns last season, he helped lead Hubbard on a 12-0 run before it lost to Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary in a Division III regional final. At 6 feet 1 and 185 pounds, he has run 100 meters in 10.8 seconds. He also had several other scholarship offers, including from Michigan State.

“It feels good to be a Buckeye,” Hill said. “It means a lot to be able to play for my state school.”
