Indians: Swisher might need knee surgery

He seeks second opinion after going on DL

CLEVELAND — Indians first baseman Nick Swisher is seeking a second opinion on his right knee and the possibility of surgery seems a lot closer than it was on Monday.

Swisher, placed on the disabled list on Sunday for the second time this season because of a sore right knee, was examined on Monday at Cleveland Clinic.

In a statement, the Indians said information is being gathered before a final decision is made.
