Zach Walters of the Indians is greeted by teammates after hitting the winning home run in the ninth inning of a 3-2 victory in the first game.

CLEVELAND — There were few early or late problems for Trevor Bauer yesterday. The only hang-up was that he pitched so well against his former team, but didn’t have a victory to show for it.

The Indians, however, did as newcomer Zach Walters hit a walk-off homer with one out in the ninth for a 3-2 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks in the first game of a doubleheader at Progressive Field.

In the nightcap, Tuffy Gosewisch’s single scored pinch-runner Xavier Paul from second base in the 12th inning to give the Diamondbacks a 1-0 win.
