High Contrast Normal Version

Kent State football player Jason Bitsko, who was slated to start at center for the Golden Flashes this season, died yesterday from an undetermined medical issue, the school said. The school said Bitsko, 21, was found unresponsive in the bedroom of his off-campus apartment.

Bitsko was in his fourth year at Kent State. He started all 12 games in 2013.

• Illinois coach Tim Beckman has named Wes Lunt as starting quarterback. Lunt transferred to Illinois from Oklahoma State, where he started as a freshman in 2012 before losing the job because of an injury.
