Browns: Veterans approve of decision on starting QB

BEREA, Ohio — Browns receiver Nate Burleson came into camp gushing over Johnny Manziel, and he’s still a huge fan even though Manziel has lost the starting quarterback job to Brian Hoyer.

“Johnny’s still the man,” Burleson said. “He’s still a really good quarterback. He’s an NFL-quality starting quarterback. Johnny will be successful in this league.”

But the 12-year veteran receiver stressed that Hoyer being named the starter was a good decision by coach Mike Pettine.
