MAN vs. WING CONTEST RULES 2010 How to Enter: No purchase is necessary. The contest is void where prohibited. WBNS-AM/FM is not responsible for entries not received due to difficulty accessing the Internet, service outages or delays, computer difficulties or other technological glitches. Registration forms may also be picked up and returned at Radiohio, Inc, 605 South Front Street, Suite 300, Columbus, Ohio 43215. Deadline for registrations are as follows; For the March 26th, 2010 qualifying round to be held at Buffalo Wings & Rings, located at 1574 Stringtown Rd., Grove City, OH 43123, forms must be received no later than March 26th at 6pm. Only one participant per household. Selection of Contest Participants Log onto www.971thefan.com. Go to Fan Word "MAN vs WING" and fill out the information on the registration page and submit to 97.1 The Fan. Once WBNS-AM/FM receives the submission, the form will be reviewed by 97.1 The Fan personnel. 97.1 The Fan reserves the right to admit or deny any person's attendance at and participation in MAN vs. WING based on its sole discretion. The qualifying round is limited to the first forty (40) entrant that are accepted by 97.1 The Fan. Eligibility Restrictions: The contest is open to all Ohio residents 21 years of age or older. Employees of the Dispatch Broadcast Group, its licensees, corporate parent Dispatch Printing Company, Buffalo Wings & Rings, their affiliated entities, affiliated advertising agencies, participating sponsors/promotional partners, and employees of radio stations in the Columbus Metropolitan area and members of their immediate families and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible to participate or win. To enter on-line you must enter your first name and last name, complete address, city, state, zip code, home telephone number, a valid e-mail address and the registration questionnaire in the on-line entry form. One Internet entry per person and one Internet entry per e-mail address. Internet entries will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. The authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned to the e-mail address by an internet access provider, on-line service provider, or other organization that is responsible by assigning e-mail addresses or the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Contestants are required to provide truthful information, and WBNS-AM/FM will reject and delete any entry it discovers to be false or fraudulent. WBNS-AMFM respects the privacy of visitors to our Web site. We do not sell the e-mail addresses, names, street addresses or interests information about the users of our services. If you have participated online in any of our features by giving us your e-mail address, 971thefan.com periodically will send you promotional and breaking-news e-mails. Your identity will not be revealed to advertisers and marketers unless you respond directly to their offers and provide your information. We use standard Web server log files to track the use of certain features of our pages. All accesses to 971thefan.com Web servers are recorded by software on our Web server platform. Your IP address, file accessed and time of access are recorded. This is done to correlate users' interests and our services, to determine how we can improve our services and to allow us to better determine which of our services will be of value to you. Your usage on our site is not revealed to third parties. All contestants must be physically able to participate in the contest and must certify prior to participation that there is no physical, psychological, medical or other reason (i.e. heart condition, diabetes, etc.) why the rapid consumption of a large quantity of food would adversely affect their health. All contestants must sign a participant release prior to participating in the qualifying rounds and the final round of MAN vs. WING. Failure to do so will result in immediate disqualification. Qualifying Round Rules: During Qualifying Rounds to be held on March 26th, 2010 at Buffalo Wings & Rings, 1574 Stringtown Road, Grove City, OH, 40 selected semifinalists will compete in two separate wing eating contests. 97.1 The Fan and Buffalo Wings & Rings reserves the right to sign up contestants on site to fill the maximum of forty (40) contestants. The 40 contestants will be split into two groups of twenty. Each group of twenty contestants will participate in one round of qualifying with the top ten overall contestants advancing to the MAN vs. WING final round on April 3rd, 2010. Each contestant will eat as many wings as they possibly can in a predetermined amount of time. This amount of time will be 8 minutes. Any participant who vomits, passes out or throws in the Fan towel will be disqualified. MAN vs. WING rules: Forty (40) contestants will compete in MAN vs. WING. Ten finalists will be determined by the ten contestants who eat the most wings in the 8 minute time period. MAN vs. WING will consist of three rounds of wing eating. The first two rounds, each held March 26th, 2010, will each last 8 minutes. The third and final round will be held April 3rd and last 10 minutes. Should there be a tie between two or more contestants at the end of the two qualifying rounds, there will be a 5-wing eat-off, with the winner advancing to the final round. The winner of the 5-wing eat off will be determined by 97.1 The Fan personnel. Each plate will have 20 wings and will be replaced after all wings have been consumed. Fan Girls, 97.1 The Fan personnel, Buffalo Wings & Rings personnel and volunteers who are deemed fit to participate by 97.1 The Fan will be responsible for replacing the plates as needed and will keep track of the total number of wings eaten. Chicken meat must be eaten directly from the bones. Stripping the bones of meat first and eating the meat at one time will not be allowed. If a contestant leaves the wing-eating area for any reason during the contest he or she will be disqualified from further competition. Contestants may not make physical contact with other contestants at any time, any contestant who deliberately makes contact with another contestant will be disqualified at the sole discretion of WBNS-AM/FM. If a contestant purges or vomits at any point during the competition, he or she will immediately be disqualified. Each contestant will be shown prior to the competition, the minimum amount of meat to be eaten off the wing. Contestants who do not eat the minimum amount will be given one warning. If they continue to not eat the minimum amount, they will be penalized one wing per each incident. The Wing Bowl Commissioner an individual to be named by WBNS-AM/FM will have the final say on the number of penalty points assessed. Each contestant will discard wing bones in a bowl and the final count will be made by the Wing Bowl Commissioner. 97.1 The Fan is not responsible for miscalculations in the official count. Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to contestants based on final results of the contest. All taxes and fees are the responsibility of the winner. Prizes will also be awarded for contests held at each venue. Grand Prize and other associated prizes will be announced at another time. All prizes must be claimed at WBNS-AM/FM, at 605 South Third Street, Third Floor, Columbus, OH 43215. Any prize or prize certificate not claimed within thirty (30) days of winning will be forfeited by the winner. In the event that a prize or prize certificate is mailed to the winner, it will be with the prior written consent of the winner and therefore, winner assumes the risk of its arrival. WBNS-AM/FM is not responsible for the safe arrival of a prize or prize certificate. Conditions: Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash. Payment of all federal, state, local taxes, are the sole responsibility of the winner. Prizewinner must present a valid Ohio Driver's License prior to accepting the prize. Winner will be required to sign an IRS Form 1099 or the equivalent. Decisions of station management with respect to the contest are final. By participating in the contest, the winner(s) agree to have their name, voice, or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest without additional financial or other compensation, and to sign a liability release prior to acceptance of the prize. Pursuant to the liability release, the winners will agree to hold WBNS-AM/FM, its corporate licensees, its parent corporation Dispatch Printing Company, Buffalo Wings & Rings, affiliated companies and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each of them harmless against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the prize or participation in the contest. The Dispatch Broadcast Group reserves the right to make changes in the rules of the contest, including the substitution of a prize of equivalent value, which will become effective upon announcement. This contest is void where prohibited. Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestant's disqualification at WBNS-AM/FM's sole discretion.
