THE FAN & 10TV FAN DRIVE FOR LIFECARE ALLIANCE

Older adults, people with a chronic illness, and homebound individuals are more susceptible to heat exhaustion and heat stroke. A simple box fan can lower a room’s temperature by 10 degrees and save lives.

The Beat the Heat Fan Campaign benefits Central Ohio’s most vulnerable residents during periods of extreme heat. Since this annual drive began, LifeCare Alliance has collected and distributed more than 22,000 fans!

WAYS TO HELP

  1. Purchase a new Box fan from your nearest retailer and drop it off at a Franklin County fire station close to you (fans must be new-in-box due to safety concerns).
  2. You can also order a fan through LifeCare’s Amazon wish list, and the fan will be sent directly to them. If you plan to send them a fan, please ensure it is directed to the correct location: 670 Harmon Ave, Columbus, OH 43223.
  3. Donate to the Beat the Heat Fan Campaign. Do so online here, or mail your check to LifeCare Alliance, 1699 West Mound Street, Columbus, OH 43223. Make sure to mention the Beat the Heat Fan Campaign on your check.
  4. Volunteer to pick up fans from fire stations and bring them to LifeCare’s Harmon Avenue facility. Contact their Fan Campaign Coordinator at fans@lifecarealliance.org to get involved.
