Beginning as a freshman at Ohio State, Bobby Carpenter played 50 games for the Buckeyes, starting 26. He finished his career with 191 tackles, 14.5 sacks and earned second-team All-Big Ten Conference honors as a junior and a senior.

He was drafted 18th overall in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft. The Lancaster, Ohio native played for the Dallas Cowboys (2006-09), St. Louis Rams (2010), Miami Dolphins (2010), Detroit Lions (2010-11) and the New England Patriots (2012). Carpenter finished his NFL career with 167 tackles, 3.5 sacks and one interception in 93 games.
