97.1 The Fan is asking central Ohioans to step up and help their neighbors stay cool this summer with the Beat the Heat fan drive in partnership with 10TV and LifeCare Alliance.
Many of LifeCare’s clients cannot afford air conditioning and they have medical conditions that are exacerbated by extremely warm temperatures.
The 2025 fan drive begins June 27 and runs through Aug. 31.

Join us for a live broadcast of Rothman and Ice on Friday, June 27 at the Fire station in Westerville at 400 W Main Street as we kick off the 2025 Beat the Heat fan drive.
Bring a new box fan and help someone in need. The first 100 people who drop off a fan will receive a pair of tickets to the Cardale Jones softball game at Huntington Park on July 19.
If you can’t make it to the fire station, stop by our office!
Bring a new box fan to the studios at 770 Twin Rivers Drive between 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Just drive through and drop off your fan!
LA Catering will be onsite between 4 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. grilling hot dogs. Anyone who donates on June 27 will receive a couple of tickets to the Cardale Jones Celebrity Softball Game.
How to donate:
- Purchase a box fan.
- Drop it off at the nearest Franklin County, Madison County or Marion County fire station.
- You can also drop fans off at the LifeCare Alliance facility at 670 Harmon Avenue (open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
- Fans can also be purchased on the LifeCare Alliance’s Amazon Wish List at: Amazon.com The fan will be delivered to the LifeCare Alliance distribution facility on Harmon Avenue.
